3R4 Widener

MTE recently completed this 3 Rows of 4 Widener for Kuru Contracting Limited, built as a versatile heavy machinery transport solution for their contracting and earthmoving operations.

The trailer features MTE’s hydraulic widening system, allowing the main deck to expand from 2,500mm closed to 3,600mm open. Combined with MTE hydraulic suspension, a 40,000kg GVM and an 820mm loading height, the trailer is designed to accommodate a wide range of heavy and oversized machinery.

Versatility Across Two Deck Levels

The 3.9m top deck provides additional loading space, with air-operated pop-up ramps allowing machinery to utilise both deck levels. Integrated chain bins in the front corners of the top deck provide convenient storage without sacrificing valuable deck space.

For load restraint, the trailer incorporates six certified tie-bar lashings per side on the top deck and 14 per side on the main deck, along with rope rails, chain lugs, ferry hooks and ship-lock pockets for a loaded 20ft container.

Built for Day-to-Day Heavy Haulage

This build also features pneumatic suspension retraction locks on the front and rear axles, along with independent left and right suspension controls and pressure gauges at the rear of the trailer.  

Storage has been well catered for with two 900mm toolboxes, an additional 1,200mm toolbox and two integrated top-deck chain bins. Broom and shovel holders are also fitted underneath the top deck for easy storage.
