MTE recently completed this 3 Rows of 8 Linkwing for Fulton Hogan, built as a high-capacity and versatile heavy transport solution for moving large construction equipment and machinery throughout New Zealand.

The photos show the trailer out on the job, loaded with a Sinotruk T5G 8x4 concrete truck at our Hamilton yard before heading to the South Island for delivery to Allied Concrete.

With an 85,000kg GVM, hydraulic compensating gooseneck, hydraulic suspension and a deck capable of widening to 3.7 metres, this 3R8 is well suited to loads of this size.

Built for Heavy Equipment Transport

The Linkwing deck hydraulically widens through five locking positions from 2.5m to 3.7m, giving Fulton Hogan the flexibility to accommodate a wide range of tracked, wheeled and over-dimensional equipment.

Hydraulic suspension allows the deck to operate between 820mm lowered and 1,060mm raised, while the hydraulic internal compensating gooseneck provides further control over the trailer's setup for different loads.

Extensive Load Restraint & Storage

For securing large machinery, the trailer incorporates 18 Figure 8 lashings in each deck, cross-member lashing rings, 16mm chain lugs and eight recessed 6,000kg Tiger hooks. Ship-lock provisions also allow for the transport of a 20ft container.

Five open chain bins, four dunnage trays between the axles and two additional spine dunnage trays provide plenty of dedicated storage for chains, blocks and other heavy haulage equipment.

Out on the Job

These photos provide a great example of the versatility of the 3R8 Linkwing – a complete 8x4 concrete truck loaded up and ready for its trip south.

Finished all over in Fulton Hogan Lagoon Blue, the trailer is a distinctive addition to their heavy transport fleet.

With its 85-tonne GVM, 3.7m widening deck, hydraulic suspension and compensating gooseneck, this 3R8 gives Fulton Hogan a highly adaptable platform for moving everything from heavy earthmoving machinery through to complete commercial vehicles.
