MTE completed this 4 Rows of 4 Full Widener for Al-Tranz, combining the versatility of a hydraulically widening machinery transporter with MTE Electronic Command Steering on the rear axle.
Built for New Zealand HPMV operation, the trailer is rated to 50,000kg GVW and widens from 2,500mm to 3,600mm, with a low 925mm deck ride height. The addition of electronic command steering provides greater control and manoeuvrability when operating a trailer of this size in confined areas.

Electronic Command Steering
One of the standout features of this build is the Electronic Command Steer rear axle.
The rear axle steering operates from the kingpin through the trailer's electronic steering system, helping the trailer follow the towing vehicle more accurately through corners. This provides improved manoeuvrability, reduced off-tracking and greater control in tighter operating environments.
The steering system has its own dedicated 24V hydraulic power pack, separate from the truck PTO-powered suspension, widening and ramp functions.
