4R8 Jinker

MTE recently completed this 4 Rows of 8 Jinker for Stresscrete Heavy Haulage in Australia, purpose-built for the transport of long precast concrete products.

Designed around Stresscrete’s heavy haulage requirements, the Jinker combines a 67,500kg GVW, hydraulic widening, 90-degree steering and specialised Super Tee and hollow-core bolster jaws to provide a highly manoeuvrable transport solution for large precast loads.

Built for Precast Transport

A key feature of this Jinker is its specialised bolster cradle, fitted with jaws designed specifically for Super Tee and hollow-core precast concrete products.

The Jinker can widen from 2,498mm to 4,310mm, allowing the configuration to be adjusted to suit different loads. Air-operated widening locks secure the unit once the required width has been established.

Tie-down provisions include four 5-tonne Drop-D lashings and four 16mm chain lugs, providing dedicated restraint points around the bolster and widening boxes.

90-Degree Hydraulic Steering

Manoeuvrability is particularly important with a Jinker configuration, especially when handling long precast loads.

This unit features a double ball race capable of 90-degree steering, with four hydraulic steering rams controlling both the bogie and ball race. This gives the operator considerable control over the rear of the combination when negotiating tighter sites and accessways.

Self-Contained Hydraulic System

Hydraulic power is supplied by an onboard 9.5HP Kubota diesel power pack with electric start, making the Jinker self-contained for its steering and widening functions.

A winch is also mounted beneath the bolster, while 40 metres of air and electrical lead is supplied to accommodate the long-distance connection required between the Jinker and the front of the combination.
