Another specialised MTE heavy haulage package is heading across the Tasman, with a K-Trans 5 Rows of 8 Dropbed Extendable Linkwing loaded up and ready for shipment to Australia.
Making full use of the trip, the K-Trans Linkwing is carrying a 60-tonne vessel beam set and 2 Rows of 8 Jinker built for Stephenson Transport.
The K-Trans 5R8 Linkwing is a serious piece of heavy haulage equipment, rated to 130,000kg GVW and featuring a 12,850mm deck, 4-metre extension and full 127mm dropbed. The deck hydraulically widens from 2,495mm to 4,270mm.

On deck is part of another specialised MTE build for a Australian customer, a 60-tonne vessel beam set designed specifically for transporting large vessels and other specialised loads.
The modular beam system uses high-strength JFE Hiten 780 steel and includes interchangeable beam lengths ranging from 3.5 metres through to 9 metres, along with a 3,700mm-clearance hydraulic gooseneck and removable bolt-in cross members. The beam set is rated to 60,000kg GVW and uses hydraulic lift skid plates with 800mm of vertical travel.
Also making the journey is Stephenson Transport's MTE 2R8 Jinker, designed to work as part of their specialised heavy transport setup.
The Jinker widens from 2,498mm to 4,310mm, is rated to 36,000kg GVW, and features full trunnion suspension, twin 50-tonne ball races and a heavy-duty drawbar. A six-function remote provides control of steering, widening and engine functions.
The beam set stands out with its 41m standard length configuration and fully modular design, offering flexibility to extend or shorten based on job requirements.
