MTE recently completed this 5 Rows of 8 Swingwide Dropbed Extendable for Ace Haulage, purpose-built for specialised heavy haulage operations in Australia and destined for Brisbane.
This is one of the more versatile configurations in the MTE heavy haulage range, combining the Swingwide widening system, 125mm dropbed, 4-metre deck extension and 130,000kg GVW into a single platform. The result gives Ace Haulage significant flexibility when configuring the trailer around long, wide and heavy loads.

Swingwide Widening
A major feature of this build is MTE’s Swingwide widening system.
The trailer can widen from a road-going 2,500mm to a maximum 4,270mm, with multiple intermediate locking positions. Unlike a conventional parallel widening system, the trailer shortens as it widens, changing the trailer geometry as the deck is opened.
This provides Ace Haulage with a highly configurable deck that can be adjusted around the width and dimensions of specialised machinery and oversized loads.
4-Metre Extendable Dropbed
Alongside the Swingwide system, the trailer incorporates a 4-metre deck extension, locking at 500mm increments.
With the trailer closed, the deck measures 13,100mm behind the gooseneck, giving the operator substantial additional deck length when fully extended.
The 125mm dropbed and MTE hydraulic suspension also help minimise loaded height. From its normal 950mm ride height, the deck can be hydraulically lowered to approximately 820mm, or raised to 1,060mm when additional ground clearance is required.
Built for Ace Haulage
The finished trailer carries Ace Haulage's distinctive specification, with the main chassis, gooseneck, ramps and bumper finished in Queensland Rail Maroon, contrasting white coaming rails and grey-primed decks.
