MTE recently completed this 4 Axle House Trailer with 2 Axle Clip-On for King House Removals, purpose-built for specialist house and building relocation throughout New Zealand.
This is one of MTE's latest Full E-Command Electronic Steering house trailer combinations, replacing the traditional hydraulic master/slave steering arrangement with electronically controlled steering across every axle. The result is a highly manoeuvrable and adaptable platform designed specifically for the unique challenges of house moving.

Full E-Command Electronic Steering
One of the biggest features of this build is MTE's Full E-Command Electronic Steering system.
A sensor integrated into the 90mm kingpin electronically controls the steering axles, eliminating the traditional hydraulic header and master/slave steering rams. This system saves approximately 1,400kg of tare weight on the main trailer while still providing up to 32° command steering across all four axles. Each axle is equipped with its own angle sensor and can also be individually steered using dial-up axle angles.
The 2 Axle Clip-On continues the E-Command system, with both axles featuring electronic steering, individual angle sensors and up to 32° command steering.
Up to 30.31 Metres of Deck
The main trailer incorporates a 10.4m extension, taking the deck from 14.37m closed to 24.77m fully extended or 30.31m with the 2 Axle Clip On. The extension locks in approximately 1.3m increments, allowing the trailer length to be configured around different houses and structures. Three sliding aluminium wing/pontoons are also incorporated into the build.
Hydraulic suspension provides an equally impressive range of vertical movement, taking the main trailer from 920mm fully lowered to 2,790mm raised.
In-Cab & Remote Control
The E-Command system can be operated through both a remote control with visual display and an in-cab touchscreen.
The system includes Road-Assist steering, adjustable steer-about point, automatic level and lift, four programmable lift heights and manual dial-up level control. Cameras mounted to the trailer also feed directly to the in-cab display.
Quick-Change 2 Axle Clip-On
For larger moves, the 5.6m long 2 Axle Clip-On can be added to the rear of the main trailer, bringing another two electronically steered hydraulic suspension axles into the combination.
MTE's quick-change clip-on system combines the hydraulic and electronic connections through termination plates and hydraulic multi-couplings, while a hydraulic clip-on pin secures the module to the main trailer.
This allows King House Removals to configure the trailer around the size and requirements of each individual move.
